In an effort to honor his legacy, Washé – in collaboration with the group Etnoe3 and the support of the British Council, Maczul, Point Black and the animations of Max Hattler – was honored to pay tribute to him during his lifetime. It was a meeting where contemporary art and ancestral tradition converged to celebrate his career.
Months later, Salvador began his journey to Jepirá, the place of eternal rest.
En un esfuerzo por honrar su legado, Washé —en colaboración con la agrupación Etnoe3 y el respaldo del British Council, Maczul, Point Black y las animaciones de Max Hattler— tuvo el honor de rendirle un homenaje en vida. Fue un encuentro donde el arte contemporáneo y la tradición ancestral convergieron para celebrar su trayectoria.

After his departure, the Montiel family allowed us to be part of their celebration rites. In this meeting, we immerse ourselves in the essence of their daily life: from the pulse of the Yonna dance and the symbolism of their clothing, to the gastronomy that underpins each ritual. It was, above all, a day of deep immersion in the land and spirit of Salvador Montiel and the wayuu people.
