THE SOUND OF A TRADITION, OF A TEACHING

In the last years of Salvador Montiel’s physical life, I had the opportunity to tell many of his experiences.

Salvador, one of the most important cultists of the Wayuu community within Venezuela, gave his entire life to the Wayuu, spreading their traditions and sounds.

Washe had the opportunity to pay him a well-deserved tribute in life with the group Etnoe3 and supported by the British Council, Maczul and Point Black with the animations of Max Hattler.

After several months, Salvador went to Jepirá, where he rests.

Homage to Salvador

His family invited us to participate in the Wayuu celebration, where we shared with the Montiel family, from “Yonna” dance traditions, clothing, to food that is an important part of any ritual.

That was a day of experiences in the lands of Salvador Montiel and the Wayuu.
